In this podcast, Gregg Ward, a Certified Management Consultant working with Fortune 500 companies and author of The Respectful Leader, shares his publicity and marketing experience working with Annie Jennings PR publicity.
Major media outlets booked for Gregg’s publicity outreach
Gregg has experienced tremendous success under Annie’s guaranteed pay for placement publicity and marketing program where he’s been booked with Fox News Channel, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, Entrepreneur, TheStreet.com and heard coast to coast by millions on Westwood One’s Jim Bohannon Show and that is just to name a few!
Why did you decide to work with Annie Jennings PR? What was the clincher? (Business model, energy and enthusiasm of publicity team, referral trust, for example)
What sealed the deal is that I have had prior experience with my first book with Annie Jennings PR. Sara was the publicist who helped me about 10 years ago and it went so well that I said let’s do it again. I knew that Annie was going to come through for me and boy, she did.

Publicity Story: Annie Is The Only PR Firm Who Offers Guarantees!
Did your publicity campaign exceed your expectations?
Yes absolutely, the process was terrific because she held my hand from the beginning. I had not done any national TV in quite a few years. I had to up my game. She suggested, which was right on target, that we start with booking the local city TV and build up from there. She got me booked on a major show in Washington DC that was huge for me. I was very excited about that.
Annie’s famous “ladder strategy” for publicity just keeps working to optimize your potential
Annie’s “ladder strategy” works to move clients up the media ladder, starting with local or regional media and using it to jump into bigger media brands.
Our publicity strategy started with going after a media placement on San Diego TV which went very well. I was able to capture that video and then use it in my own marketing campaigns. Based on that and some of the other influential media Annie Jennings PR publicist, Sara had gotten for me including Fortune, Entrepreneur and the long list of the online and print media, we were able to get the Washington DC TV. The Ladder Strategy worked really well and I felt very comfortable.
How did you leverage your publicity with Annie Jennings PR?
Our firm created a specific media tab on our website so that with every single placement Sara booked for me, we would post them as soon as they came in. It’s an impressive list. Using our social media we were able to broadcast out through all of our different channels the kind of publicity I was getting. The response to it, especially from colleagues and people who knew me as well as from clients, was “wow, you are everywhere. You are being heard and seen by important movers and shakers. Good for you!”
We were able to leverage our publicity with Annie immediately. We were geared up for that strategy and it worked very well.
Do you think the publicity with Annie will help you get new clients?
I do believe it will help me a great deal. Occasionally I will get a call from someone who saw me on TV or saw my piece in one of the major media channels. But usually it’s drip, drip, drip and about staying visible and usually something will happen on the client’s end where they say, let’s call Gregg about this.
Publicity will provide Gregg with an advantage for a very long time
I believe that overall the robustness of the publicity campaign will serve me for a long time. I now have the media coverage and it’s quite awesome. I have this extensive list of media that I have been featured in. It is very helpful to me in terms of credibility and visibility. It is exciting to me. I am very happy about how this worked out.
Is working with Annie Jennings PR on your publicity worth it?
When Wiley announced they were bringing out my book, I was approached by other publicity firms who work on retainer and aggressively went after me and tried to compete with Annie Jennings. I considered them hard. I looked at them hard.
Other publicity firms find it impossible to compete with Annie Jennings PR
But my sense was that Annie Jennings is going to connect me with the people I need to be connected to and asked him if he could do the same. He said “I can make no guarantees.”
Annie Jennings PR offers performance guarantees. It’s in her Contract
At the end of the day, I ran the numbers and quite honestly if I had hired this gentleman and paid his retainer I would have paid the same amount of money that I paid to Annie Jennings and I just had no guarantee that I would get the kinds of connections or the media coverage that I got with Annie Jennings PR. I felt that working with Annie was a safer way to go and I am very happy that I did.
