Why did you decide to work with Annie Jennings PR for your book PR?
Annie had a vision. From the moment I got on the phone with her I knew she understood what I wanted and had the plan to get me there. She seemed like she was going to take care of me. I didn’t really know what I should be doing to promote the book, but I knew it had to be something and Annie was that something!
How was your experience working with the publicity performance specialists on Annie’s radio talk show team?
From the introductory call to the invaluable media training and throughout the scheduling of the shows, they have been very helpful in organizing my thoughts and developing my messaging for the interviews. I didn’t have a clue what I was going to talk about until they gave me direction.
Stacy and Jason demystified the process for me and helped me get my interview act together so I was able to take advantage of the time I had on the air. I’ve enjoyed the process so far and will continue to do so as we move forward together. It’s been fun!
What was your favorite part of your book PR campaign?
Getting better and more proficient with each interview gave me confidence. Just from being coached a few times, and talking to different broadcasters, I’ve been able to refine my message and focus my energy and projecting that into the world feels good. Taking questions from callers helped me engage the audience and I’ve always wanted to do that.
What did you learn about yourself from doing the radio talk show interviews?
I AM THE PIZZA GUY! I realized that I was the expert. I learned that I did know everything about pizza. I saw myself opening up more with each interview. I always had it in me, but Annie helped me get organized and positioned as a top expert in the pizza industry. I have started to really impress myself on the air.
What value do you feel you received during this first leg of your publicity book PR campaign?
I was actually pleasantly surprised that even though Annie guarantees deliverables, she goes above and beyond to over deliver as well.
For such a low fee, I received way more than I paid for. In addition to the shows within the campaign, I was booked on a number of complimentary programs as well that gave me even more exposure. These free shows were big ones too! They placed me on the right stations, with the right hosts who were interested in me and my book and I know we’ve seen a bunch of pre-sales because of it.
