Darlene Gudrie Butts is the author of Lessons from the Depression, an educational and inspirational parable pitting Great Depression born Grammy Ti against her financially irresponsible family and the Christian fictional novel entitled The Promise which answers the question “Where are you, God?” She is also featured in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Finding Your Faith with her heart-wrenching, faith-filled story, “Finding My Faith at the Run for the Cure.”


Darlene Butts is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and spent twenty-three years in the financial planning industry until writing Lessons stirred the latent passion for writing. She now writes full-time including for her own blog, thepromisestory.blogspot.ca. Darlene is also a motivational speaker talking to audiences about personal finance, finding your passion and living in faith.
