Understand who you’re pitching to when you send
in your ideas. Producers are more likely to read
Us Weekly, than the NY Times. They work 16 hour
days and it’s not out of the ordinary for them to
work 40 hours in a row to get a show on the air.
They are often hungry, sleep-deprived people who
will not read your 10 page thesis/pitch.
They are young (late 20’s/early 30’s) and hip,
and often have type A personalities. Do not bore
them!
