Annie Jennings PR Real Story: “HELP ME” the email said. “I NEED TO TALK TO YOU. HURRY!”

An Annie Jennings PR Real Publicity Story

Annie Jennings PR is a National Publicity Firm that offers radio publicity campaigns, book marketing, book promotion, expert bookings in the media, author PR and lots more. Annie delights her audience with real stories that offer a behind the scenes peak at the day to day workings of the world of PR. Be sure to enjoy more real stories under the category heading in this blog called “Real Stories”.

The sun was just rising over the ocean as Annie clicked open her next email.

“HELP ME” the email said.  “I NEED TO TALK TO YOU.  HURRY!”

“My self publisher is vigorously soliciting my business,” the email continued.  “Help me.”

Annie could tell the author was almost broken down. Soon, he would be forced to say yes to the pressure from his print on demand publisher.

It’s call the funnel.  The dreaded marketing funnel that you step into the second you self-publish.

Every day, authors arrive on Annie’s doorstep with their sad stories.

Their sad stories of broken dreams and washed out wallets.

With over 2.7 million new print on demand authors publishing their books in 2010 (up from only 22,000 in 2006), everyone is getting into the publishing and publicity game.

New publicists . . . thinking that if they put out a shingle they can make a mint from the hopeful authors.  They think all they need is a database.  (Hardly true, says Annie.  Thinking just anyone can be a publicist is a rookie mistake authors should avoid).

Seriously, one new publicist was an interior designer just last year . . . :)

Print on demand publishers . . .  thinking they can persuade the newly published to buy lots of expensive, low performance publicity products . . .

But then there is Annie.

The GOLD STANDARD of publicity.

Before Annie, they were no guaranteed deliverables in publicity.

There was no TOP 35 markets radio campaign where you are only booked on high impact, high listenership BIG Radio Show in BIG Cities and on impressive Nationally Syndicated shows that let your voice sweep the nation.

The famous Annie Jennings PAY FOR PLAY publicity model where you only pay for signed, sealed and delivered media opportunities had not been invented yet.

There was no UNLIMITED FREE MEDIA TRAINING with your Radio Campaign.

Authors just paid their high monthly publicity fees and got what they got.  And more often than not, they got nothing.

But then came Annie

With her mission to help authors and experts live their destinies.

Annie knew that there is no greater joy in life than getting the chance to live your real dream, the dream in your heart.

So Annie created publicity models that had never been seen before.

And authors came.

They came in droves.

To get the chance to live the life of their dreams.

Don’t miss your chance to work with one of the finest publicists in the business!

It’s always better to be an Annie Jennings PR author.

TODAY!  Annie

Annie Jennings PR Real Story: You Can’t Blame A Scorpion For Stinging, Can You?

Posted on July 6th, 2011 in Real Stories by Annie Jennings

Annie Jennings PR Real Story:  You Can’t Blame A Scorpion For Stinging, Can You?

The Annie Jennings PR media bookers were asked to be on an author’s PR team.

Annie’s job was to book the big radio shows in big markets.

And to book the author on the network affiliated TV shows in major cities.

The client also hired an additional publicity team member with another public relations firm.  He hired a monthly retainer-based publicist to do everything else.

This other publicist the client hired shall be known as “this guy” for the story.

Here We Go:

Month #1: This guy pitches the author to mega TV shows in NYC.  The author is excited by the glitz and glamour of getting booked on the big name media!!!

Annie thought “wow, this guy is really good if he can get all this stuff”.

Month #2:  You would think something would be happening right?

The only thing that happens is that Annie’s team gets all of their bookings done, including big radio shows in big markets (Annie’s team actually over-delivered and gave the author more shows than he paid for).  They also booked the author on the big city TV on the network affiliates that he requested.

The author puts Annie’s team on hold as they did everything they said they would do.

He is now waiting for this guy to get the NYC TV bookings.

But nothing happens.

Uh, oh . . .

The End Of Month 3:  This guy emails us all a gorgeous final report that’s beautifully color coordinated with all of the names of the shows and everything . . .

And the report includes a great big bright red word on each media listing:  PASSED.

PASSED.

All of the shows PASSED on booking the author.

The question is whose fault is it that the author had to pay a high monthly retainer fee for bookings he did not get?

Is it the author’s for hiring this guy in the first place and going with the retainer model?

Or is it this guy’s, who just did what the author asked him to, and that is, TRY to get bookings?  You can’t blame a scorpion for stinging, can you?  Can this guy help it if all of the shows said no?

TRUTH BE TOLD:   Shows have profiles of the types of topics and guests they like to put on the show.  If you are a match; you should get on the show, if you are pitched correctly.  If you are not a match you will not get on the show regardless.

THE QUESTION IS:  What makes YOU a match for the media bookings of your dreams?

And that’s what Annie knows that the others do not know.  Annie knows how to make it happen for you, given your special set of circumstances.
Annie’s publicity team can book the pants off anyone else in the business.

Annie knows how to get the bookings FOR REAL!

HOW ANNIE DOES IT:   Annie’s bookers match up the client with the right show.  And build up the client so they qualify for more shows.

BEST PART: You only pay Annie’s ‘pay for play’ publicity fee if Annie gets the booking for you.

ANNIE KNOW THINGS:  Does the client need a better demo?  Do they need more media experience to create an influential bio . . . ?

If the client is willing, Annie’s team creates the resources the client needs to be successful, set the targets and then  simply GO & GET!
