What Should Be In A Media Room Or On A Media-Style Website?

MEDIA-STYLE SITE: How should a media-style site be laid out?  What are the elements of a media-style website and what pages should be included?

MEDIA ROOM - A SNAPSHOT OF WHO YOU ARE:  Your media room or media-style website should have a professionally written bio (especially for a breaking news expert) that displays your information in an order that would be of value to the media such as your credentials, education, areas of expertise, years in business, awards and recognition and location.   Also, include your professional headshot, your demo (producers like to view YOU in action LIVE and ON THE AIR), audio recordings and previous media placements such as quotes in recognizable major media including newspapers, national magazines and major internet sites.

JUST THE FACTS:  Your media bio has the intention to tell the media all they need to know about you to make an informed decision on whether or not you are the author, expert or authority they would like to use for their segment or story.

PERSONALITY BIO:  You can also include a “personality” or expanded bio that includes your story if you feel your story is important to your area of expertise and any other info that adds to your value to the media.

LINK:  Link to any stories where you are the quoted expert so the media can review your previous media activity.
